Quite a while ago, The Archivist wanted to know the myths of Island, and since other matters have come up in the meantime, could you all send in you myths again pleese?

Earth was lonely so she created the sun to keep her company. The sun agreed to keep her company and provide her with light, but only for half of the day. So she created the moon. But she wasn’t there for some of the time, and Earth became lonely again. So she created the sky. The sky gave her companionship all the time. Their children were the mountains and the oceans. One day Sky wanted to see himself, so earth created 1000 little goddesses, which became the shinning lakes. Sky saw himself and when Sun was there he was brilliant blue and covered in white puffy clouds. When moon was over him and Earth he was black and dotted with stars. In the mornings and evenings he was truly beautiful. He then only looked at himself and never talked to earth. He thought he was so much more beautiful the earth and she became sad. She cried and that is what made the oceans salty. Then she got so mad that she made trees grow all over herself and around the lakes, so Sky couldn’t see himself any more. He got very angry then and made a storm of snow and dirt the whirlwind flew off in every direction and each fleck of dust became a “human”, the dirt became black people and the snow became the white people. The people were too weak to pull down the trees around the lakes. Sky and Earth eventually calmed down and Earth began to like the humans. She decided But She noticed that they only worshipped Sky for there creation and became jealous. So she gave them fire to keep them warm, and taught them how to hunt and keep animals for food, and how to farm. And they then respected them both.
